The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association wants Congress to quickly pass the tax extender’s legislation. Association Executive Director Julie Ellingson says the most important provisions of that bill for her group are the Section 179 expensing and bonus depreciation.

She says it would have been better if Congress had been able to pass a stand alone measure for bonus depreciation and Section 179 expensing but the most important thing is to get passage of those measures in any means possible.

Ellingson says it’s critical the extenders get approved before the end of the year, but the sooner the better.

She says eventually they’d like to get a more permanent extension piece of legislation approved.
