North Dakota State lawmakers have completed 65 days of their 80-day session. North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Executive Vice President Julie Ellingson says bills are now being finalized and moving through the conference committee. She says measures on fencing and posting are currently in committee.

An important bonding bill has been approved that she says provides funding for a meat lab as well as for loans and grants for value added livestock projects.

Ellingson says another bill that passed clarifies zoning and permitting for animal feeding operations.

Ellingson says state lawmakers are holding back 8 to 10 days to deal with legislative redistricting before they wrap up their bi-annual session.
