North Dakota State Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring is concerned that HSUS has been meeting with county law enforcement officials in North Dakota. He says they’re trying to influence them on how to handle potential animal cruelty cases and push their agenda on eliminating animal agriculture.

He says county law enforcement needs to work with the State Ag Department and their veterinarians if there are any question concerning possible animal cruelty, rather than relying on an activist group that has an agenda to harm agriculture.

Goehring says there are vets available who specialize in large animal concerns and all these decisions need to be based on the best science and health.

Goehring says HSUS is encouraging and training law enforcement to identify and seize animals without a veterinary inspection and assessment.
