This week the U.S. House passed the Reducing Regulatory Burden’s Act. The measure eliminates costly and duplicative pesticide permitting requirements. National Council Of Cooperative’s President and CEO Chuck Connor says the legislation eliminates the need for Clean Water Act Permits for pesticides that are covered by the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act.
Connor says without the legislation, producers would have had to get a permit for time they applied pesticides on their fields.
Connor says there is a companion measure that’s been introduced in the Senate and is awaiting action.
