National Cattlemen Beef Association members are pleased House Appropriators have included language in their Transportation legislation to delay for one year electronic logging device mandates. NCBA President Craig Uden says those are the devices used on livestock trailers. He says a time is needed to work out legislation to fix the problem.
He says the electronic device logging needs modifications and haulers need flexibility to meet the challenges and variables they’re facing.
Uden is confident the full House will move forward the legislation including the delay and he’s hopeful the Senate will follow suit.
Uden wants the final electronic logging device regulation be more fair for haulers in their transportation of livestock, especially concerning the restrictions within hours of service rules.
