America’s cattle groups want the U.S. Trade Representative’s office to move quickly on a bilateral trade agreement with Japan. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Kevin Kester says there’s a sense of urgency since the U.S. is losing market share with Japan now in the revamped TPP, which does not include the U.S.
He says getting that bilateral deal completed with Japan is their top trade priority.
Kester says following completion of a pact with Japan, the next focus for U.S negotiators should be possible deals with both the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Kester says besides cutting new trade deals, NCBA also wants the U.S. to resolve the trade war with China.
