The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is pleased with House passage of the Midnight Rules Relief Act. The measure if approved would allow Congress to disapprove multiple regulations that had been issued in the last 60 days of the final year of a President’s term. NCBA Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall says his group backs the bill which is a positive measure for stopping unneeded rules.
He says the question is not only if the Senate will approve the measure but if they can get enough votes to override an expected Presidential veto.
Woodall says regardless of what happens with the Senate followup to this House measure and whatever the President does, his group will work with the new administration and Congress to get rid of burdensome and unneeded regulations.
The House passed the bill on a 240 to 179 vote.
