Recently, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez pushed forward what’s being called the Green New Deal to battle climate change. She said that methane from cows over 10 years causes detrimental effects to the climate. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says they’re in the process of responding to that charge

He says cow’s impacts on the climate is relatively small.

Yager says having the Green New Deal in the forefront gives the cattle industry a chance to tell their story.

Yager says there are lots of things that impact climate change in some way and cattle are just a small part of the overall problem.
