Last week, the Senate Agriculture Committee held the confirmation hearing for President Trump’s Ag Secretary nominee, Sonny Perdue. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Craig Uden who ranches in Nebraska is hoping Perdue will be able to assist with pushing for needed trade agreements.

He says the U.S. needs to get moving as soon as possible on negotiating trade pacts as we’re facing stiff beef competition from Australia.

Uden says time is of the essence as bilateral trade deals take time.

Uden says while he would have liked the confirmation for Perdue to happen earlier he’s glad Senators have finally moved forward with it.
