Recent comments by the Trump administration pointed a finger at China for being a threat to trade. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Craig Uden says that’s concerning. He says U.S. negotiators need to be cautious when dealing with potential trade customers, especially with China where the U.S. recently regained market access for beef.
He says his group will continue to seek more trade agreements as they are critical for the U.S. cattle industry.
Uden says trade adds a lot to the bottom line of America’s cattle producers and that’s been borne out by recent agreements.
Uden says NCBA will be monitoring the NAFTA talks as negotiators work to reauthorize the pact.
