National Cattlemen Beef Association officials are preparing for a busy year defending against regulatory pressures from the Administration. Barrack Obama is in the final year of his term as President and in the past has issued various executive orders to advance policy. NCBA Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall says they’re being watchful over any possible moves by the administration.
He says one of the primary issues NCBA is concerned about is the many listings of National Monuments which has put pressure on some ranchers.
Woodall says the other major concern coming out of their Convention in San Diego this week is dealing with market volatility
Woodall says the market volatility is so extreme right now that many of their members are getting out of the futures market as it’s becoming a liability rather than an asset.
