The New Waters of the U.S. Rule was published in the Federal Register on Tuesday. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says the Navigable Waters Protection Rule becomes effective sixty days from that publication. He says it’s a much better and more workable regulation than the 2015 Obama Era Wotus.

He says there are several waters that won’t fall under federal regulation with this new WOTUS.

Yager says environmental groups who are already fighting this rule in court will also likely appeal this published measure.

Yager says any year round waters will likely fall under regulation under the new rule. He says however there are much fewer waters that will be regulated.
