The U.S. Senate has confirmed Michael Regan as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager sees that as a positive move and thinks Regan will listen to rancher’s concerns on environmental issues.

He says they’re watching to see what Regan and the agency do about the Navigable Waters Protection Rule and the 2015 WOTUS going forward. Yager says at this point there’s no indication of any move to put more stringent Clean Water Rules in place.

Yager says the most recent good news regarding the environment and agriculture is the upholding of the Navigable Waters Protection Rule in Colorado which now means its in effect nationally in all states.

Yager says NCBA like most ag groups are looking forward to working with the new EPA administrator.
