Top meat importer China has suspended imports from some foreign meat packing plants where workers have become infected with coronavirus. That has not stopped beef exports from the U.S. going to China. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Director of International Trade and Market Access Kent Bacus says so far product is flowing smoothly.

He says the main issue for the U.S. with trading with China is making it a more certain market destination., although there is great potential for more trade with that Asian nation.

Bacus says U.S. beef has a great advantage for the Chinese market over our competitors.

Bacus says the U.S. is in a great position to capitalize on the Chinese market for beef especially in the back half of 2020 and into 2021.
