The Americans and Farmers for Free Trade Coalitions are asking President elect Joe Biden to remove the tariffs placed on China by President Donald Trump. Coalition members want the tariffs removed, a new multilaterally approach to China trade issues because they believe it’ll provide an immediate economic boost to U.S. companies. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Senior Vice President of International Trade and Market Access Kent Bacus says tariffs are a double edged sword.

He says tariffs are only part of the discussion when dealing with trade with China.

Bacus says it’s critical to be able to trade with China as it has the potential to be a large market for U.S. beef.

In their letter to the President elect the free trade coalition say U.S. trading partners including China need to live up to their trade commitments the current tariffs have been costly for the United States.
