The Federal government is going through the process of repealing and replacing the Waters of the U.S. Rule. The EPA has rewritten WOTUS and has taken public comments receiving over 700,000 and is now reviewing those. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says the feds are also working on repealing the Obama Era WOTUS.
He expects the review of the WOTUS replacement rule to be completed by this December.
Yager says it takes time to repeal and replace WOTUS as it’s a very complicated issue. He also expects there to be court challenges filed on that by environmental groups once those are finalized.
The goal for NCBA and several agricultural groups is to have the Obama era WOTUS repealed and replaced by the rewritten WOTUS.
