The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is monitoring the impacts of the COVID-19 virus on the nations cattle industry. Vice President of Government Affairs Ethan Lane says as far as export markets go they’re watching that to make sure those important export destinations remain open and that trade isn’t disrupted.

He says they’re also keeping a close eye on the domestic markets both commodity and financial ones.

Lane says they’re also working to make sure inspectors and packing plant workers remain on the job and are speaking with USDA officials about that important supply chain.

Lane says NCBA has sent a letter to Vice President Mike Pence outlining their COVID-19 concerns and have also been in communication with the North American Meat Institute.
