National Cattlemen Beef Association officials are moving forward with their legislative goals begun earlier this year. Ethan Lane who’s just begun as the group’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs says trade, meat labeling and battling climate change activists top their list as they work with Congress for workable solutions for cattle producers.
He says he’s seen first hand how activists have stepped up their pressure by pushing for a green new deal and staging protests rather than seeking reasonable solutions.
Lane says NCBA is moving ahead with retaining recent victories they’ve gained including the elimination of the Obama era Waters of the U.S. rule. He says it’s important they keep on top of those issues however especially as the election season gets closer.
Lane recently took over as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs replacing Colin Woodall who move up to the CEO position at NCBA.
