National Cattlemen’s Beef Association leaders are firing back at HSUS over a lawsuit they filed against the Office of Inspector General on behalf of OCM seeking beef checkoff data through the Freedom of Information Act. NCBA CEO Kendal Frazier says it’s an effort to weaken the beef checkoff by initiating an unnecessary lawsuit.
He says HSUS is a radical group who’s agenda is to drive consumers away from eating meat and destroy the livestock industry.
Frazier says a pair of audits have shown NCBA and the Cattlemen’s Beef Board have been clear and open with how they’ve run the beef checkoff program.
Frazier says HSUS understands most cattle producers support the beef checkoff. They also know it’s a valuable tool that shows consumers the nutritious benefits of beef and they’ll stop at nothing to get rid of it.
