NCBA Expects Cattle’s Environmental Stance To Hold Up

The Biden Administration has announced it’s joining the Global Methane Pledge as part of an international effort to curb global methane emissions by 30 percent by 2030. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is urging the Biden administration to maintain an open dialogue with agriculture experts as the move forward with that. NCBA’s Vice President of Government Affairs Ethan Lane says he’s confident the U.S. cattle industry won’t be targeted for heavy regulations regarding emission reductions.

He says what’s positive is that the administration is taking a voluntary approach so far to addressing climate change.

Lane says its critical U.S. cattle producers tell their story of how they’re the best environmentalists and have a very positive effect on the carbon footprint.

Lane says that NCBA has already announced that the U.S. cattle industry will be working to demonstrate climate neutrality by 2040.
