NCBA Encouraging Producers To Comment On WOTUS

Friday is the deadline for comments on EPA’s proposed Waters of the U.S. Rule. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association officials report as of Monday this week, close to 6,000 comments had been submitted to their website. NCBA Environmental Counsel Ashley McDonald says it’s crucial that in these last few days people get their comments into EPA as to how it will affect their operations.
She says while they’ve received comments on their NCBA website, others have commented directly to EPA’s website. McDonald is hoping that the changeover in the new Congress with Republicans now holding the majority in both chambers will spur lawmakers to pass legislation pushing back against unneeded regulations.
McDonald says comments may be made by going to BeefUSA.org or to ow-docket@epa.gov. She says you can also go to regulations.gov and copy and paste your comments in the text box provided or attach a document.
