NCBA Continuing To Work With CME On Market Improvements

National Cattlemen Beef Association leaders are continuing to work with the CME on ways to address market volatility in the markets and improve those markets as a risk management tool for producers. NCBA Vice President of Government Affairs Collin Woodall says one of the key issues they’re trying to address is high frequency trading.

He says their group is exploring different options to resolve the problem.

Woodall says last week his group spoke with members of Congress reviewing the state of the livestock industry and shared with them their concerns about market volatility. He says they updated the lawmakers on what their joint committee with CME is looking at on frequency trading.

Woodall says many of the Senators and Representatives are aware of the market problems being faced by the cattle industry and want to provide what help they can.
