NCBA Concerned About Future Ag Regulations From Administration

President Obama and his administration will be wrapping up their term in office in January. One livestock group is concerned there will be a whole host of new regulations hampering agriculture as President Obama leaves office. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall says an IRS proposed rule and the GIPSA rule are the two most important.

He says the new GIPSA rule could hurt cattle producers at a time when they’re already facing depressed markets.

Woodall says another regulation his group will continue to fight is the Waters of the U.S. rule. He expects some type of court resolution on it by as early as next spring.

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals recently gave the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers an extra month to file their briefs in the WOTUS case.
