NCBA Charges OCM And HSUS With Smear Tactics

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association says the Organization for Competitive Markets is using half truths and smear tactics to pit beef producers against each other. NCBA CEO Colin Woodall says OCM is not friendly to the cattle industry mainly due to their partnership with HSUS.

He says OCM has leveled attacks against the beef checkoff and NCBA’s participation.

Woodall says the beef checkoff is a producer driven program that most producers support and has given them dividends over the long haul.

Woodall says that both OCM and HSUS would like producers to think that the industry is weak when in reality the demand for beef is strong, with much of that strength coming from the beef checkoff.
