While traveling in Asia, President Trump said he’d be making a major announcement on trade. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President and Nebraska producer Craig Uden is hopeful the announcement centers around some bilateral trade deal, but doesn’t know specifically what the announcement will be.
He says getting a bilateral deal with Japan is critical for the U.S. cattle industry. He hopes the President can persuade them to move forward talks.
Uden says it’s positive the President is talking about trade in Asia and speaking to the other country’s leaders about it.
President Trump’s announcement could come as early as Wednesday when he’ll also provide details of his discussion with world leaders during his 12-day, five country tour of Asia.
