The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association has joined the American Farm Bureau Federation and other ag groups in asking for a nationwide stay on the 2015 Waters of the U.S. rule. They are also appealing the District Court’s decision that allowed for implementation of WOTUS in 26 states. NCBA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall says they’re battling environmental activists on the issue.

He says if they can get the stay on the 2015 WOTUS it will give the administration time to rewrite the WOTUS rule which they’ve been working on.

Woodall says they keep reminding the EPA that their group supports the Clean Water Act but is against government over regulation.

The ag groups want the nationwide stay in effect until the appeal of the District Court decision that allowed the 2015 WOTUS rule to go into effect is decided.
