South Dakota State women’s soccer learned Monday via the NCAA Selection Show it will travel to Lincoln, Neb., this weekend to battle Nebraska in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Jackrabbits and Huskers will square off Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:05 p.m. (CT) from Barbara Hibner Stadium in the first round.

This is the fourth overall and third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the Jackrabbits, who are one of just 26 programs to have reached the tournament the previous three seasons.

The Jacks (10-7-3), one of 64 teams nationwide in the tournament, earned The Summit League’s automatic bid after claiming the conference tournament title on Saturday, Nov. 5 in a shootout with Oral Roberts. SDSU and Nebraska have never faced each other in regular or postseason play.

The winner of Friday’s contest will advance to face either fourth-seeded UCLA or Seattle in the second round, held Nov. 18. That round, along with the third round (Nov. 20) and quarterfinals (Nov. 25 or 26) will be held at to-be-determined campus sites before the Women’s College Cup semifinals and National Championship, Dec. 2 and 4, respectively, are played at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.
