Representatives of the National Biodiesel Board along with the American Soybean Association met with House Ag Committee members during their panel hearing Wednesday on supply chain challenges facing U.S. agriculture. NBB’s Paul Winters says there are several problems contained in the supply chain issue and the Ag Committee examined a slew of those.

He says one of the major problems is the lack of labor to handle the basic transportation needs like trucks or even port workers

Winters says his group, NBB and ASA were at odds with the baking industry over supply chain issues and possible solutions as they spoke at the hearing.

Both NBB and ASA officials told House Ag Committee members the supply chain concerns center around labor shortages, large shipments, ports and shipping containers, trucking, all freight, and fertilizer and chemical inputs, energy, equipment and parts and water availability.
