The National Biodiesel Board has filed an antidumping and countervailing duty petition with the U.S. Commerce Department and International Trade Commission against Argentina and Indonesia for flooding the U.S. market with subsidized biodiesel. NBB’s Jessica Robinson says Argentina and Indonesia are violating trade laws.

She says Argentina and Indonesia selling biodiesel below the cost of production hurts the U.S. biodiesel industry.

Robinson says this isn’t the first time Indonesia and Argentina have violated international trade laws by dumping.

Robinson says National Biodiesel Board data shows the dumping margins for Argentina at 23 percent and Indonesia at 34 percent. She says it will take some time to resolve the issue with a possible investigation conducted by late this spring.
