One of the major priorities for President Elect Joe Biden is working on climate change and improving the nation’s environmental footprint. National Biodiesel Board’s Paul Winters says his group is anxious to work with the new administration and is ready to show what positive impact biodiesel has on the climate.

He says the Biden administration has much to do to assist the biodiesel industry with unfinished business relating to the renewable fuel standard., and making sure those renewable volume obligation numbers for 2021 get unveiled as soon as possible.

Winters says the biodiesel industry is also suffering from a great deal of uncertainty because the small refiner waiver issue hasn’t yet been settled and is something the new Administration will have to deal with.

Winters says besides working with President Elect Biden, the NBB also recently met virtually with members of Congress to outline their goals for 2021.
