The National Biodiesel Board along with the American Soybean Association are asking to meet with Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. They want to talk to the Secretary prior to the Commerce Department issuing a review of countervailing duties on biodiesel imports from Argentina. National Biodiesel Board Director and Nebraska farmer Greg Anderson says it’s critical U.S. farmers and biodiesel producers are heard on the issue.

He doesn’t understand why the Commerce Department is moving so swiftly with its review.

Anderson says without a proper review of the countervailing duties, the U.S. biodiesel industry and farmers will continue to feel the negative economic impacts.

Anderson says it’s not asking too much to have the Commerce Secretary meet with U.S. biodiesel representatives prior to the review, especially since he’s already met with Argentina government representatives.
