National Association of Wheat Growers leadership is disappointed the North Dakota Grain Growers Association (NDGGA) has decided to withdraw their membership from the organization at the end of the fiscal year. NAWG CEO Chandler Goule says it is unfortunate, but they won’t let it affect their ability to lobby effectively for the nation’s wheat growers.

He says the charges that NAWG was not representing the North Dakota group in Washington are unfounded. In fact, Goule says they’ve documented the tremendous effort they are making with Congress and the Administration on behalf of all states.

Goule says they did everything possible to address North Dakota’s concerns and he doesn’t believe their approach to policy was the problem.

Goule says the past two years North Dakota put their interests ahead of all wheat growers across the country by withholding half their dues, making it difficult to carry out the overall mission of the organization.

He says they will continue negotiations with the North Dakota Grain Growers Association.
