The World Trade Organization is moving forward with an investigation of China over possible trade violations regarding tariff rate quotas placed by them on U.S wheat, corn and rice. National Association of Wheat Growers President Dave Schemm is pleased with the decision. He says America’s wheat growers are feeling major negative impacts from China’s decision.

He says his group is pleased the Trump administration wants trade agreements enforced and is moving ahead seeking WTO resolution to this TRQ problem.

Schemm says if trade deals are properly enforced then U.S. wheat growers can compete with anyone.

This is the second time the U.S. requested the WTO dispute settlement panel investigate the TRQs. China was able to block the first request but any second request is not subject to being blocked.
