The World Trade Organization has established a dispute settlement panel to look at China’s domestic support in wheat, corn and rice production. National Association of Wheat Grower’s President Gordon Stoner is pleased the WTO is moving forward on the U.S. complaint regarding trade distorting supports.

He says the action by the Chinese has been very costly for U.S. wheat growers.

Stoner is hoping the Settlement Panel rules in favor of the U.S. following their review.

An initial request for a settlement panel in December was blocked by the Chinese as is their right under the WTO. They were unable however to block this second request for a review which was granted.
