Kansas Senator Pat Roberts who narrowly won re election Tuesday is slated to become the new Chairman of the Senate Ag Committee with the GOP taking control of that body. National Association of Wheat Grower’s President Paul Penner who farms in Kansas is excited about Roberts taking the helm of that committee and sees it benefitting farmers and ranchers.
Penner is also hoping with the changeover in the Senate that lawmakers will be able to move forward some needed legislation.
Penner says whether or not lawmakers agree with the President they still need to work with him in order to make government run efficiently and effectively.
