The National Association of Wheat Growers got some good news recently on California’s Proposition 65. A federal court judge put a temporary injunction in place on the measure that would require labeling of any product that might have a trace of glyphosate in it as a likely carcinogen. NAWG President Gordon Stoner says as a plaintiff in the case they are pleased the court granted their request.

He says the injunction will stay in place while the court case proceeds, which could take months.

Stoner says they have opposed Prop 65 because it is based on one highly flawed study in France that showed a possible link between Roundup and cancer. Plus, it’s a first amendment issue.

He says countless studies on glyphosate have concluded the product is safe and EPA, FDA and even California’s own regulatory agencies have concurred with the findings.
