Thursday, the U.S. House approved the USMCA trade agreement and sent it on to the Senate. National Association of Wheat Grower’s CEO Chandler Goule is pleased with the passage and says it’s great for America’s wheat growers.

He says the key to getting the USMCA ratified in the House came down to successful negotiations between the U.S. Trade Representative and House Democrat leaders.

Goule says he expects quick passage in the Senate due to Trade Promotion Authority rules and expects it to be finally complete in February or March.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation released a statement saying ratification of USMCA is an important step in solidifying trade relations with Mexico and Canada which are critical destinations for U.S pork, beef and lamb.
