The replacement Waters of the U.S. Rule or Navigable Waters Protection Rule is now in effect in every state except Colorado where’s there’s an injunction in place stopping it there. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says the NWPR rule is much better for agriculture.

He says the NWPR clears up for farmers and ranchers what is and isn’t regulated and also gets rid of government overreach.

Yager says prior to the new rule going into effect this week there had been multiple court challenges trying to prevent it from activists and 17 Democrat State Attorneys General. He says the last try happened in California where a Judge ruled against them and in favor of the NWPR.

Yager says the court challenges aren’t over as activists are expected to appeal this new rule to the U.S .Supreme Court.
