Native American families will have an opportunity to access healthcare, supportive, specialty services with agencies lined up to offer help in an atmosphere that caters to family. Ariss Rogel Mendoza is the Lead Navigator for the Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership, one of the agencies hosting the event. She says The Good Life in My Moccasins is a family fair with lots to offer.
This is the second year for the event. Mendoza says last year’s fair reached about 300 Native individuals, and they are hoping to reach even more tomorrow (Thursday) with nine different agencies dealing with healthcare, education, community planning, mental health and suicide, and food security. She says the feedback surveys from last year were positive.
The fair will be held tomorrow from 4:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Hanscom Park Pavilion in Omaha.
