Last week, Iowa pork producer John Weber, testified for the National Pork Producers Council in front of a House Sub Committee looking at regulations and agriculture. The past president of NPPC says his group has been pleased with the direction the Trump administration has taken to loosen regulations and work for more reasonable rules for agriculture.

He says his group wants Congress to give agriculture a seat at the table when it comes to putting together regulations.

Weber says he also told the subcommittee he’s pleased the Trump administration is working on rewriting the Waters of the U.S. rule and has sent that over to the Office of Management and Budget.

Weber told the subcommittee the latest concern is the need to pass legislation to increase the ag labor pool and reform the current immigration system.
