The National Pork Producers Board of Directors has cancelled the 2020 World Pork Expo scheduled for June in Des Moines, Iowa. NPPC President Elect Jen Sorenson who also serves as a board director for the Iowa Pork Producers Association says they made the decision to cancel based mainly on the COVID 19 pandemic.

She says it’s the second year in a row they had to cancel World Pork Expo.

Sorenson says when it comes to cleanliness, hygiene and staying ahead of the curve on health issues pork producers remain proactive and that’s been evidenced by biosecurity steps they’ve already taken.

Sorenson says America’s pork producers take their jobs seriously in being an essential service in helping keep the food supply chain moving and in good shape.
