A MAJOR INDUSTRY ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE AT THE NAFB CONVENTION AS THE UNITED SOYBEAN BOARD, NATIONAL CORN GROWERS ASSOCIATION AND NATIONAL PORK BOARD ARE COMING TOGETHER TO COLLABORATE ON SUSTAINABILITY. NATIONAL PORK BOARD CEO BILL EVEN SAYS FARMER LEADERS SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THAT WILL SET A BASELINE FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND WAYS TO MEASURE THE OUTCOMES
United Soybean Board Chair Lewis Bainbridge, says their approach to sustainability will benefit consumers and farmers.
Lynn Chrisp with the National Corn Growers Association says the three organizations are interlocked because corn and soybean meal are the primary feed for pigs. So, it only makes sense to tackle the issue together and save checkoff resources.
THE LEADERS OF THE ORGANIZATIONS SAY THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE DEMANDING THEY BE SUSTAINABLE AND PROVIDE PROOF OF THAT CLAIM, WHICH WILL DRIVE THIS PROJECT GOING FORWARD.
