National Poll Says Consumer Don’t Pay Attention to Fuel Use

National Poll Says Consumer Don’t Pay Attention to Fuel Use

The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute has released a national poll showing consumer knowledge of how to use higher ethanol fuel blends remains unchanged and that consumers don’t pay attention to the fuels they use. Renewable Fuels Association Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says the survey also indicates consumers are only concerned about price when it comes to the fuels they use in their vehicles or small engines.

He says OPEI’s most recent poll of more than 2,000 consumers makes no sense. And Cooper says the poll actually insults consumers.

He also says average consumers are smart enough not to ignore a very clear label and knowingly violate the law to save a few cents per gallon to fill up small engines.
