The National Park Service is developing management plans for three areas of the Missouri National Recreational River near Yankton. The three areas include Green Island, just upstream of Yankton, Bow Creek Recreation area downstream of Yankton, and Mulberry Bend, south of Vermillion.
Brian Korman, a biologist with the Park Service, says the plan would lead to more public access in those areas……………

A series of public input meetings are being held this week. Korman says people can also give them their ideas for the next several weeks………

Korman says they hope to start making some improvements next spring…………

The changes could include more signs, picnic tables, restrooms and more camping areas.
