National Milk Producer Federation leaders are joining other U.S. ag groups in calling for Congress to ratify the Trans Pacific Partnership. Chris Galen of the National Milk Producers Federation says while they want the deal approved, they also want to make sure each member country plays by the rules spelled out in the agreement.

He says the key question is when and if there will be a vote in Congress on the TPP.

Galen says it’s difficult for Congress to get much accomplished during an election year but he remains hopeful, TPP will get voted on and approved.

The Trans Pacific Partnership includes the United States and 11 other countries that make up 40-percent of the world’s gross domestic product.
