This week the U.S. House took another stab at passing immigration reform legislation but the measure was soundly defeated 301 to 121. National Milk Producer Federation’s Chris Galen says they were disappointed the measure failed because it held an important guest worker provision in it needed for dairy workers.

He says the first attempt to pass a House immigration measure came closer but also failed.

Galen says now the dairy industry will push forward for a stand alone bill to address immigration reform and bring it up next month.

President Trump made an attempt to persuade Representatives to pass the legislation however Democrats voted overwhelmingly against it.
