National Milk Producer Federation Officials say they’re expecting the House to take up Immigration reform soon and are hoping for its passage yet this year. Federation’s Chris Galen says the Senate acted last year and now it’s up to the House to get moving on the needed legislation.

Galen says it’s been one of President Obama’s priorities and he mentioned it recently but now is the time to put talk aside and get the measure approved.

House Republicans are now proposing tighter border security, more interior immigration enforcement and allowing undocumented immigrants the ability to get right with the law and stay in the country. New York Senator Charles Schumer says that opens the possibility to coming together with some type of measure both sides can accept.
