National Milk Group Still Working For Immigration Reform

House Speaker John Boehner says there is still time to do an immigration overhaul. Prior to recessing the House failed to pass any immigration legislation while the Senate approved a bill over a year ago. National Milk Producer Federation’s Chris Galen says while they’re hopeful for any chance at reform says much depends on what happens during the November elections.
Galen says if the Republicans gain control of both the House and Senate they aren’t likely to move forward any immigration bill until next year when they’d take over. He says his group is therefore putting their efforts to pushing for passage in 2015.
Galen says while most Representatives understand the importance of immigration reform, it’s still an uphill battle as many of them see it as a political hot potato.
