The National Farmers Union is pleased with passage of the Farm Bill by House Senate Conference Committee.  NFU’s Vice President of Government Relations Chandler Goule says the measure contains most of the priorities sought by his organization.

Goule says the farm bill contains a strong safety net, a good crop insurance program and protects Country of Origin labeling rules that consumers want. He expects the House to pass the bill when it comes up on Wednesday.

The Farm Bill passed by the conference committee also eliminates direct program payments and cuts $ 8 billion from the supplemental nutrition assistance program.
