National Farmers Union members approved policy or Special Orders of Business at their just concluded convention this week. Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says their members approved eight orders, which is up from the six they normally pass.
He says one major focus is the need for proper labeling of fake meat and it garnered a lot of discussion at the convention.
Hansen says there’s concern about the depressed farm economy and the need to strengthen the farm bill safety net or there will be producers going out of business, especially the younger ones.
Hansen says Nebraska’s Farmers Union members were well represented at the convention with six delegates and six others attending.
